while fishing the Mobile delta most of the day without much luck we decided to try another spot. another angler got there bofore us so we had to fish his leftovers. you should have seen his face when I pulled this babe out of the water. this may not be a huge bass as they go but it is for this area and beating the storm that was brewing in the backgroung made it even sweeter. we were fishing a high tide falling. water was only 2-3 feet deep and the top of the water was only 6-8' above the weed tops. I was a swelling motion under the water 20 or 30 yds. from the boat and cast my lure just beound it. i bareley pulled the lure 2-3 ft. when I saw that same swell of water approach the lure. BooM! she nailed it and and took off. she really put up a classic fight jumping out of the water trying to shake the lure, then diving and doing her best to tie me up in the weeds. thanks to the strong spider wire I managed to get her to the boat, had my partner take this picture and put her back. Ahh! does me almost as much good to see them swim away unharmed as it does to pull them in. |
