This bass was caught at 10;45 am in heavy wood. I knew it was big as soon as I started trying to get it out of the wood, but I didn't realize it was going to be 4 ounces short of the Delaware State Record. It was so close that we thought about taking it in to register on certified scales, but didn't want to injure it. Our scales had always been within 2 ounces anyway. This bass currently appears in all of Bass Pro Shops Master Catalogs on page 90.It was also featured in Bassmaster magazine, and in several full page newspaper articles. For you West Coast guys..Just imagine if this was a 22.4 pound bass from California!! Our STATE RECORD is only 10.6, so putting it in perspective, this is the same thing as when you guys out there catch a 21 or 22 pound Bass!! |
