I was reeling in my minnow on an unweighted hook very slowly, giving the illusion that the minnow is dying. I had a very small bite near the drop off and the deep cabbage. The pike were not very active that day. I let the fish eat the bait for 2 seconds, felt the weight of the fish, and set the hook. At first, it didn't fight alot, but when it got to the boat, it was peeling line out of my reel, heading towards the motor. My dad quickly pulled up the motor and we boated this monster. We took several pictures and let him go. |
