It was a type of catch that goes through your head every trip buy never happens... except this time. We had just pulled into or spot and anchored up in 56 fathoms of water at Clarion Island. It was about 8:00 am and everyone had just thrown out live bait as the chum line wasn't even going. I decided to give it a try and pictured a #125 tuna taking the first drop on the first stop. Well first stop and first drop was right, but the weight was a little off as this #182 fish took off running. After a 45 minute fight, this was the first fish on the boat.... Just like it always goes through your head on the first cast of a new trip. |
