| It started out as a normal spring day. I threw out my cast net and caught a dozen or so shiners. I took my pole with the shiner on it and casted out in front of a grass bed. I turned around for maybe 10 seconds to talk to my friend and when i turned back around the tip of my pole was touching the water. i grabbed the pole and started to reel in the bass. the bass jumped in the air 6 or 7 times during the fight until he got himself in the weeds. my arms were burning because if the fight with and extra 20 lbs of grass on the line. i fought the fish for over 20 mins and refused to give up my fish. at last i got the fish up over the sea wall and uncovered the monster bass. i took the shiner out of its mouth then the hook. my friend took the picture and i kissed the fish and sent her on her way to make more fighting largemouth bass. It must of been a lucky shiner because i caught 5 more largemouth bass on that one shiner that day. |
