We had just put out the lines on our 1st day of fishing during our 2004 vacation in Cabo. We were on the 'El Torito' with Capt. Marteen Ibarra. I had been picked to take the 1st fish that hit because that's the way we always have the best luck. About 20 minutes into trolling the port side outrigger snapped & line started screaming off the big Penn 50w 80lb rig. My fist thought was Marlin on! I grabbed the rod & started what turned out to be a 30 min battle. When the fish jumped we knew it was a big Dorado. But when we finally saw color at the side of the boat we couldn't believe how big this fish really was. I'll remember that day for a long time to come. |
